Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),
We hope that your child is looking forward to joining the Ratoath College community in September 2025.
In preparation for their arrival we have organised an Entrance Assessment. This assessment is done on computer here in the school. It is very straightforward. All questions are answered by simply clicking a mouse (no typing skills needed). Please note that students cannot prepare for this test.
Students are required to bring the following with them on the day of the assessment:
- A set of earphones that are compatible with a computer, NOT wireless earphones.
- A drink and a snack as there will be a short break.
The assessments will take place on Saturday 1st March 2025 here in the school.
The assessment lasts approximately 3 hours.
Please ensure your child arrives on time for their allocated time slot. When they arrive at the main entrance to the school building, our staff will direct your child to where they need to go.
If you are picking your child up after the assessment, note the finishing times listed below.
Please note that access to the school for cars is via the new entrance on the Ratoath Outer Relief Road only. Children who are walking or cycling to the school on the day of the assessment will also be able to use the pedestrian entrance on The Avenue in Mill Tree Park.

If your child is currently in receipt of SNA support, please let us know if you think they will need support on the day of the assessment so that we can put the appropriate arrangements in place. You can do this by contacting Ms. Janice Conlon, our SEN coordinator, via email ([email protected]).
We look forward to meeting your child on Saturday, 1st March.
