Why did you choose this course? |
I choose this course because I always enjoyed business in school and there are good job prospects in that area for my future. |
How long is the course? |
The course is four years long. The third year is an internship with an option to do an Erasmus programme. I am considering an Erasmus programme in France as I am taking a French module as part of my course |
How does the internship work? |
Usually there are companies who visit the university and students then apply to those companies for placements. If there is a high demand for a particular company they will look at your college results. |
I believe you recently won a prestigious award – tell us about it. |
Yes, I have worn the ‘Entrance Exhibition Award’. The award recognises high performance achieved in school leaving certificate exam results. I received a certificate along with a book token valued at €150 and an evening reception was held in Trinity’s Dining hall to mark the occasion. |
How did you feel on winning the award? |
I felt very proud as it is not something you get every day and it was a privilege to be invited into the Dining Hall. |
Now that you have completed the Leaving Certificate, have you any advice for our current students? |
My advice would be not to have any regrets come the end of the exams and to give it all you’ve got. I knew that if I didn’t get my course, that I had done the best that I could have. Also it is important to mind yourself and keep up some extra-curricular activities so you have a break from your studies. |
What is your fondest memory of Ratoath College |
It has to be winning student of the year in second year. It was a great achievement. I have also very fond memories of lunchtimes spent in the cinnire room throughout sixth year. |
