3rd Level Course:

Bachelor of Arts at Maynooth University – moved into BBS Business and Management in 2nd year after receiving a 1st overall in my first year.
Why did you choose this course? I choose this course originally as I wanted to be a teacher. In first year of my arts degree I choose subjects: Business, Geography and Spanish for beginners and the plan was to go on and become a business and Geography teacher. By the end of first year, I realised my interest lied in Business so I transferred to 2nd year Business and Management.
How long is/was the course?  3 years
Current role / employment:  I am currently working as a recruiter at Symantec, where I hire employees globally! I am currently completing a 2 year part time Masters in Digital Marketing at DCU which I am really enjoying.
Best career achievement to date:  I have set up an internship programme in our Warsaw, Poland office and have 15 students to date on the programme. I also have the chance to organise and get involved in a lot of onsite events which has been amazing and a lot of fun!
Have you any advice for our current students?  Focus on what you are interested in, not the job title. You may think you want to be in a certain career, but I would encourage everyone to intern or get work experience in that area before deciding as there are endless opportunities out there and one for every person’s interests! Also, it is okay if things don’t go to plan – what is for you won’t pass you ?
Best memory of Ratoath College:  I loved the community spirit of Ratoath College, and will still tell everyone that my time in secondary school was one of the best times of my life haha I really enjoyed taking part in the talent shows, musicals as well as the lifelong friends that I have made there. I also still like to tell everyone that I went to school on a racecourse for the first year – that is something I will never forget.
