New Entrance & Traffic Arrangements – August 2024

With the opening of the new Ratoath Outer Relief Road, the school’s new entrance will now be used from Wednesday 20th August 2024. This will result in a number of changes to how you access the school and how traffic is managed inside the school.

Please note the following:

Old Entrance - The Avenue, Milltree Park

  • The entrance to the school from The Avenue in Milltree Park will be closed to all vehicles at all times, beginning Tuesday 20th August 2024.
  • Students who walk or cycle to school will be able to access the school from this entrance until 09.00 each day, when the pedestrian gate will also be closed. Students arriving to school on foot or by bike after 09.00 must use the new entrance.

New Entrance - Ratoath Outer Relief Road

  • The new entrance to the school from the Ratoath Outer Relief Road (accessed via the new Junction at Moulden Bridge) will be the only means of access to the school for all cars.
  • Students who walk or cycle to school will also be able to access the school from this entrance.

Changes to Traffic Management inside the school grounds

  • Parents/Guardians dropping-off or picking up students may use the marked areas inside the new entrance and the first Parking Bay (see image below), which has been set aside for pick-up/drop-off and visitor parking.
  • The remainder of the internal road and the rest of the parking bays are for staff only.
  • Please keep marked Bus Bays clear for school buses.
  • Changes have been made to the line-marking inside the school to reflect the new layout. Please obey all signage and road marking inside the school grounds.
  • A reminder that students who drive to school are not permitted to park on the school site.

Safety

We are extremely proud of the fact that over 70% of our students walk or cycle to school. This is significantly higher than most schools in similar settings. As always, we ask that you are conscious of the safety of all road users and particularly of children walking or cycling to and from school if you need to use your car to bring or collect your child from school. In particular, please note the following:

  • Please do not stop on the road either inside or approaching the school and allow children to exit cars into traffic. In the interests of safety, use the designated drop-off areas provided.
  • In the interests of safety, please do not attempt to approach the old entrance to the school from The Avenue. There will be large volumes of pedestrian and cycle traffic of students coming to or going home from school in this area. You will not be able to enter the school and you will be required to make a three-point turn to go back the way you came.
  • Please drive slowly when approaching and inside the school grounds.

We appreciate your cooperation with these changes as well as your patience while all members of the school community make this adjustment.

We would ask that you are particularly conscious of our neighbours in Milltree Park when dropping off or collecting your child from school. Please note that parking at the top of The Avenue is for residents of Milltree Park only.
