We wish our the Class of 2024 well for the remainder of their exams, which continue until Tuesday 25th June.
Please see below some important updates, including information about Summer Reports for 1st, 2nd, TY & 5th Year students.

School Uniform - 2024-2025
Following feedback from students and parents in relation to the PE Uniform tracksuit bottoms, we have amended the School Uniform Policy to include a new type of crested cuffed cotton tracksuit bottoms as an optional alternative.
As we head into the summer months and where you may be purchasing new or replacement uniform items, we would ask you to take particular note of the following reminders about the school uniform:
- Only the crested school jacket may be worn to and from school. No other jackets are permitted.
- School shoes must be plain black leather only. No other colours or materials are acceptable.
- Runners for PE must be athletic/sports runners. Casual footwear or runner boots are not acceptable.
- See below a number of examples of footwear we have seen in the most recent academic year that are not acceptable either for PE or for the regular school uniform:
Information on Uniforms for incoming First Year parents is available here.
Uniforms are available from Blondelles in the village and School Uniforms Direct.
Book Lists, New Junior Cycle Book Scheme & Senior Cycle Book Rental
Further to our previous update in May, we have begun taking in the huge deliveries of books and materials for Junior Cycle students in September. Sincere thanks to the staff members who have been looking after the massive task of getting it all organised.
See below for more information on the new scheme and on Book Rental for Senior Cycle:
- Guidance for parents issued on the new Junior Cycle book scheme by the Department of Education.
- Junior Cycle Book Scheme Policy
- Senior Cycle Book Rental Policy
A reminder that the new scheme does not cover TY, Fifth Year or Sixth Year.
Book and Equipment Lists for the 2024-2025 Academic Year are available via the button below.
Please note that the information presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year is for your information only. All items listed for these year groups will be provided by the school under the new scheme.
TY, Fifth Year and Sixth Year are not covered by the new scheme. Most textbooks for these year groups are covered by the school’s Book Rental Scheme. All other items must be purchased as in previous years.
Student Direct Costs 2024-2025
Sincere thanks to those who have paid the Student Direct Costs for 2024-2024 already.
A reminder that the payment date for the second installment is Monday 17th June. Note that this is the final installment for students in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year.
The breakdown of the costs for 2024-2025 is included once again below. They have been agreed by our Board of Management and approved by the board of LMETB. This money funds, for example, 24 hour student insurance, lockers, extra-curricular costs, as well as a wide range of teaching, learning and assessment materials and activities. See the button below for a full breakdown of costs by year group.
Thanks to the new Junior Cycle books scheme, costs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students have been significantly reduced while costs 5th and 6th year continue to be maintained at their previous level. The cost of TY has increased by €50 to take account of the new TY Hoodie as well as significant increases in costs, particular in relation to transport.
We are acutely aware that many of our families will be experiencing challenging financial circumstances that will make it difficult for them to pay the Student Direct Costs for next year. If you find yourself in this situation, please make contact with the school in confidence as soon as possible.
If you have any queries in relation to payments, please contact the Main Office:
Phone: 01 825 4102
Email: [email protected]
Note that certain subjects have curricular elements that require students to take part in off-site activities, such as Leaving Cert Geography, Biology and PE. These costs are not included in the breakdown below as they don’t apply to all students. Where such costs exist, they will be advised on the Book and Equipment lists and collected via Way2Pay close to the time of the trip/activity.
For Transition Year, the cost of all trips and activities are included in the costs listed below.

Students Not Returning
A reminder that, if your child is not returning to the school in September, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting your child’s Moltóir or the Main Office.
New School Entrance
As you will have noticed, the new entrance to the school onto the Ratoath Outer Relief Road is nearing completion. Work remains to be completed within the school grounds required to facilitate the new entrance, such as the renewal of line-markings etc. It is our expectation that the new entrance will be in use for the new school year and we will communicate details of this over the summer holidays once finalised.
Return to school - August 2024
The 2024-2025 school year will commence from Wednesday 21st August 2024 for 6th year students, with all other year groups returning over the subsequent few days:
See specific dates and times below:
Once again, we deeply appreciate your help and support over the last academic year. We wish all members of the school community a happy and safe summer break and we look forward to welcoming students back in August.
Yours faithfully,
