Dear parent(s)/guardian(s),
We hope this letter finds you safe and well. We are writing to notify you that students from rang 5 O’Reilly and rang 6 Conaty will attend a one-day trip on Tuesday May 2nd, 2023. Students will be travelling to Wheatfield prison where they will be taken on a tour of the prison as part of their Social Education module. The prison will be locked down during this school visit. Students will learn about the day to day running of a prison. There may be an opportunity for a prisoner to speak to the students, all students must remember to be respectful of all during this time. No devices will be allowed in the prison and students should have with them a valid photo ID.
Students must have a signed permission slip in their Dialann (page 195) giving consent for them to attend. This must be shown to their caomhnoir or Social Ed teacher by Friday April 28th, 2023.
On the day, students must attend in full school uniform. Students will leave at 11.30 and return to school at an estimated time of 14.30.
